Phoenix Roebelinii

Who am I?
Hello, my name is Phoenix Roebelenii! Other names for me are Dwarf Palm or Dwarf Date Palm but I prefer the first one! I belong to the palm species and I therefore have the appearance of a typical palm.

Where do I come from?
Originally I come from the rainforests of South East Asia but I have been in Europe for a long time and feel very much at home here! My leaves are pinnate and provide a tropical look.

How big will I get?
Although I can grow up to 3 meters high, I belong to the smaller palm species. At first I grow slowly but once my trunk has formed, I will grow faster and faster!

How much do I want to drink?
It is very humid in the rainforests of Southeast Asia, so I love a good drink of water, 2 to 3 times a week! Don’t forget me in the summer and check daily whether my soil is still moist enough. Drying out my soil can cause permanent damage.

Where do I want to be and what temperatures do I like?
Where is the best place to put me? I like to be in a sunny place, just like many other palm species. However, be a little careful when I stand directly behind the window in the summer in full sun, as my leaves can burn.

If you put me in a place that is too dark, I will not make new leaves, so make sure you have a place with enough light!

Step 1: Place the coco tablets in the pot and pour 200 ml of water on it.

Step 2: plant two seeds as deep as they are large, make sure the seeds
are completely covered with soil. It may also be a lack of water, but this is usually not the case. You can keep the other seeds if the seeds do not germinate after the indicated period.

Stap 3: Cover the pot with cling film and put the pot in a warm, bright place.

Step 4: keep the soil moist during the germination time.

Step 5: give your plant(s) a name!

Step 6: wait, the germination of this plant takes about 3 months
